There is somethnig truely overwhelming about this time when you get to meet this tiny person that's filled spaces in your heart that you did know exist for 9 odd months. We have so much to be thankful for! Most of all we are thankful for this beautiful gift from God, who is perfect in every regard.

We have so much to tell, but as it goes with birth stories, it's a lot more interesting to those who actually experienced it. We cannot omit though that God graciously granted a labor that lasted only a little over 4 hours, of which 45 minutes was rather serious and 20 minutes was in the theatre. As with Duvan, 3 sets of pushing saw Enré into this world.

The pictures we took today was sadly lost, we will however never forget these moments of joy and wonder.

Enré had no problem breastfeeding from the get-go, and also loves to suck his fingers and hand, and constantly looks for something to suck. He may have his mother's beautiful skin tone, has blue eyes that can still go anywhere, and has tall legs like the rest of the family!

Enré was awake for the first two hours after birth, but since then he's blown us away with his capacity for sleep, true to newborn form!

Home!

We were blessed to be able to come home today. Marésa is doing fantastic and has not needed any pain medication since birth (glory to God). She's up and about and able to fully enjoy Enré. Enré is also healthy and quite alert when awake (which is not very often!). He has quite a capacity for sleep, and there is a sense of tranquility about him, even while he's awake.

Enré hardly woke up for the ride home and only managed a frown at the rather rough positioning into the carseat for the first time! There's something about taking your child home for the first time. There is this sense that you've just been given an amazing treasure, and though no one notices it around you, all of the world looks different! You expect people to wave at you at the light and shout blessings at you, you expect the roads to clear for you because of your valuable cargo. It's exciting!

We had some special moments at home when Duvan met Enré for the first time. Marésa Mom & Grandma are visiting, so Duvan were hanging out with them on the lawn when we arrived. He was amazed at this "boo-pee" (Duvan's way of saying "boetie", meaning "brother") that we brought home, and kept showing him to us, wanting to touch and rock him. He kept pointing at Enré, making the cutest noises resembling "Mmmm-mmmmm", like when you're eating a really good sandwich, or chocolate ice cream. :)

Welcomed with a kiss. This is adorable!

It is thus official, we are a family of four.

Enré has not lost his momentum for sleep yet, and hung out most of the day in his new bed. This has allowed Mommy to catch up with Duvan and resting for a while.

We are stacked with emotion at the moment, and tread carefully through the hours. Living in a home and having visitors, and especially Duvan, requires us to go about our daily routine, yet here we are with this newfound joy that has filled our house. Praise to the Lord, His workmanship is magnificent!
